Could Honey Help Support Memory?

Honey is a familiar pantry ingredient. Researchers are also exploring whether some of its natural compounds could play a role in brain health.

Some early research suggests honey may have properties relevant to learning and memory. But much of this work comes from laboratory or animal studies, and there is not enough evidence to say that eating honey improves memory in people.

A simple way to enjoy it

If you like honey, try a small amount in tea or plain yogurt, or use it in place of another sweetener. Honey is still a source of sugar, so moderation matters.

Keep the bigger picture in mind. Sleep, physical activity, and managing health conditions matter for brain health. If memory changes concern you or someone close to you, talk with a healthcare professional.
